Maize Agriproducts new $180 million ethanol plant on 90-acres near Boswell will be a state of the art 88 million gallon dry mill ethanol plant and will be completed in the fall of 2008. It will produce fuel grade ethanol, distillers’ grains and CO2. A recent report prepared by LECG for the Renewable Fuels Association has concluded an ethanol plant of this size will have the following economic impact on the local economy:

* Grain purchased locally will generate $408 million of new gross output.
* New jobs are created as a consequence of increased economic activity caused by ethanol production. The increase in gross output resulting from ongoing production of an 88 million gallon per year ethanol plant will support the creation of as many as 1,573 jobs in all sectors of the local economy.
* Increased economic activity and new jobs results in higher levels of income. The ongoing operation of an 88 million gallon per year plant will increase household income in the local economy by $52 million annually.
