Boswell has long been known for its farming and agriculture but all of that is changing with the emergence of new business and industry. One of the major players in ethanol production Maize Agriproducts announced they will develop and operate an 88 million gallon ethanol plant in Boswell. The new plant will employ 40-45 people and will begin construction. The plant should be operational by fall 2007.
